Vital collaborates with Ministry of Environment to celebrate National and World Environment Day 5 June, Steung Treng

Steung Treng Province: National and World Environment Day 5 June 2023 hosted under the theme “Ecology Restoration”, which is organized by the Ministry of Environment and co-organized by One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital) on 4th-5th June 2023 at Steung Treng City, Steung Treng Province under the participation of H.E. Neth Phaktra, Ministry of Environment secretary of state and spokesman, Mr. Chao Monyra, Deputy governor of Steung Treng province, H.E. Ken Sereyratha, Director General of the General Department of Environmental Knowledge and Information, and Mr. Heng Vannsak, Head of Business Operation of One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital), ladies and gentlemen, member of provincial councilor, municipal/district administration, relevant departments, civil society partners, civil servants, military, volunteer youths, One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital)’s senior management, and approximately 400 local residents.

National and World Environment Day 5 June 2023 is organized along with the 30th anniversary for Cambodia with the aim to enhance public awareness about environmental issues and encourage people as well as the community to become sustainable active agents, protect the environment together, and develop the environment friendly. On top of that, 2023 is a significant year of every nation to determine conservation and ecology restoration, and anti-climate crisis, and increase food security, water supply, and biodiversity.

 

H.E. Neth Phaktra, Ministry of Environment secretary of state and spokesman said “The earth and ecology have been provided everything to support the lives on the earth including humanity. Food security, drinking water, and breathing air which is the need of human beings. Ecology system of the earth nowadays is facing degradation due to over-exploitation and over-usage and the facing will become climate change and other natural disasters.

We, together, have to protect our earth and restore the ecosystem such as forest preservation, reforestation, energy saving, water usage saving, and reducing food waste to ensure food security, and having enough water to use and fresh air as well. Nature can grow without the need of humans but humans cannot live without nature. More importantly, H.E. also appreciates and highly gives value to One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital) for the cooperation and co-sponsoring of other activities to the Ministry of Environment so far.

H.E. Ken Sereyratha, Director General of the General Department of Environmental Knowledge and Information mentioned “Ecosystem Restoration” is crucial in promoting and reminding the world about the restoration of ecology, which is getting disturbed, and to responding to the climate change crisis, food security issue, water supply, drought, and the biodiversity. Therefore, the Kingdom of Cambodia, which has the Ministry of Environment as a commanding officer who has been playing an important role to lead and manage environmental protection, natural resource management, and the conservation of biodiversity to strengthen the management of 76 protected areas and function of the ecosystem to ensure that:

  1. Provision service: food resource, water usage, used wood, medicine, and energy consumption.
  2. Regulatory service: regulatory climate, food chain, and water purification regulatory.
  3. Culture service: beautiful areas, superstition areas, educational areas, research and recreation areas.
  4. Supporting service. Produce nutrients, create nutrients, create fertilized soil, and primary production.

Mr. Chao Monyra, Deputy Governor of Steung Treng province mentioned “Steung Treng Province is honored in national selection to celebrate National and World Environment Day 5 June smoothly and full of meaning and will be part of promoting to all people and students in the local area about the importance of their participation in the curb of the change of negative point on the environment and take part in developing environment friendly. He continued that with this activity, the municipal of the province would love to encourage all relevant departments to maintain the promoting knowledge of environmental protection to departments. Relevant partners, and local residents.

Mr. Heng Vannsak, Head of Business Operation of One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital) raised “Vital, on behalf of the private sector is happy by seeing the participation of individuals and important partners on National and World Environment Day from year to year to support and practice the good advice to the priority work such as well as identifying important measures to solve the problems that we are facing, which is our obligation for this motherland.

Noticeably, since the beginning of the establishment of the business, One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital) has set its priority not to provide only drinking water with quality, safety, and sanity, moreover, the participation of social works and the response to all social need is one of the​ top priorities. In the latest 13 years, One Fraternity Co., Ltd (Vital) has launched some projects which are getting the support from public such as the Vital Go Green Project, which is created in 2015 by removing plastic from the cap of the bottle and is first made in the name of drinking water sector in Cambodia.

This model has become the changing context of drinking water production without plastic on the cap for the Cambodia market. Continuously, the company has also participated in the support of various environmental initiatives such as planting mangrove tree Vital has collaborated with the Ministry of Environment for 3 years and have planted approximately 600 mangrove trees in Kompot and Kep province and also supporting on National Sanitation Day 23 November.

At the same time, it is noticed that the environmental sector is the priority sector that Vital has contributed to and donated the most among the four sectors of the main social work pillars of Vital. Based on this, Vital’s teamwork has worked actively in preparing various environmental activities with development partners for the next year to be part of the effect of environmental restoration and develop the environment friendly of Cambodia and the world.
